Canterbury sold to JD Sports


We have just had confirmation that the deal is done and Canterbury
global has been bought by JD Sports;

JD has been 57% owned by Pentland Group Plc since mid 2005.
Pentland owns Sports Brands such as Lacoste, Mitre, Berghaus,
Ellesse and Speedo. We are not clear whether Canterbury will sit within

Tacklebag is an authorised stockist for Canterbury Teamwear; we provide playing kits, training kit and merchandise for clubs and schools.

Canterbury  has two catalogues this season: In Made to Order you'll find rugby hockey, netball kit etc, plus  hoodies, tees, polos, jackets - we design to suit your colours and make to order; Teamsports (right) contains the stock items which we can normally order, embroider or print, and deliver to you within 3 weeks - stock levels permitting! Made to Order items take up to 12 weeks - so plan ahead!
High performance and high quality clothing for every sport - Canterbury now provides football, cricket and tennis clothing as well as the traditional rugby, hockey, netball.

And the training gear is ideal for players and coaches and is hugely popular with PE/sports staff in schools and colleges.

Canterbury Teamwear is separate from the Retail arm. Stuff you see in the shops is mainly seasonal stash whereas Teamwear stockists such as ourselves carry a range designed for teams and clubs and available at below retail rates.
Canterbury is a New Zealand company and the online shop on the internet is based there - the product range in the online shop is not all available in the UK and we can't get hold of it!

If each tourist orders a kitbag and £100-worth of kit and stash, we'll deliver you individually packed and initialled kitbags for each player - now that's better than having someone else dump six boxes in your club bar for you to sort out yourselves!
